We’re incredibly proud that Lynne, Healthcare Support Worker at HMP Durham, was named Healthcare Worker of the Year at the North East Prison Group Awards. The award recognises her exceptional dedication, compassion and professionalism, and the lasting impact she has on patients, colleagues and prison healthcare services.
Lynne consistently goes above and beyond to support some of the most vulnerable individuals in a challenging environment. Her ability to build trust, improve access to healthcare, support people in crisis and champion inclusive health education has transformed patient experiences and outcomes. Widely respected by both staff and patients, Lynne’s award is a well-deserved recognition of her commitment to delivering outstanding care and embodying the very best of prison healthcare.
We’re proud to have been part of the Wakefield District Health and Care Partnership (WDHCP) Wakefield System Workforce Team, which won the HSJ Jobs Award for Systems Workforce Planning & Development at the HPMA Awards. The award recognises innovative approaches to workforce planning that help meet the health and care needs of local populations through effective system-wide collaboration.
The winning approach brought together partners across the Wakefield district through a dedicated People Alliance, a system leadership structure focused on workforce priorities, and a project management office to drive delivery. This recognition highlights the team’s commitment to developing a sustainable, skilled workforce and showcases the power of partnership working to improve health and care services across the region.
One of Spectrum’s senior nurse leaders, Kim Hogg, developed a bespoke midwifery service and has led on initiatives to improve care for pregnant women in custody. Kim also helped create the first ever dedicated prison colposcopy clinic in the UK and Europe back in 2009, when it beat projects from 39 other countries to win a World Health Organisation (WHO) award. In 2022, she received an Our Health Heroes Bronze Award for ‘Lifetime Contribution to Healthcare’, and was also named ‘Nurse Manager of the Year’, in the Nursing Times Workforce Awards 2021.
We’re proud to have been named finalists at the West Yorkshire Adversity, Trauma and Resilience (ATR) Awards 2026. The WY-FI team was shortlisted in the Healing, Hope and Recovery category, while the ATR Programme workstream was recognised in the Trauma Responsive Workforce category, reflecting our commitment to trauma-informed practice and partnership working.
