Spectrum Community Health CIC is delighted to announce the appointment of Peter Strachan as its new Chair, who has taken on the post from Monday 1 September.
Peter brings a wealth of leadership experience, having chaired several prominent organisations, including North East Ambulance Service Foundation Trust, Northern Ambulance Alliance, Caledonian Sleeper, and Inverness Business Improvement District. His current chairing roles include UKROEd, Merseyrail, and the National Transport Authority in Ireland.
A graduate of Durham University, Peter began his career at British Rail and has since held senior roles in the transport industry, including in Australia as Chief Executive Officer at TransLink, Queensland and as the Director-General at the Department for Transport during the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Spectrum Community Health CIC, a non-profit organisation providing high-quality healthcare for people in vulnerable circumstances, warmly welcomes Peter. The organisation particularly values his commitment to “giving something back” and his dedication to making a meaningful difference for the most vulnerable patients in our communities.

As Chair, Peter will provide strategic leadership to the Board, working closely with the CEO to drive Spectrum’s future development, identify new opportunities, and champion the organisation’s social mission. He will play a key role in sharing Spectrum’s vision and values while helping shape the organisation’s long-term aspirations.
