Steve Wragg has been appointed as the new Chair of Spectrum Community Health CIC, a non-profit organisation which provides quality healthcare care for people in vulnerable circumstances.

Mr Wragg, a self-employed strategic management consultant, has extensive experience as a Chair and Non-Executive Director of NHS organisations and was previously Chairman of Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust for ten years. He is also Non-Executive Director of Primary Care Sheffield and a Trustee of Weston Park Cancer Charity, as well as holding a number of other Non-Executive positions in the education and charity sectors.

Before taking up Board positions, Mr Wragg worked in ICT across many public and private sector roles for over 40 years. He says, “I am delighted to be joining Spectrum, an organisation which delivers compassionate care to people in need and has the best interests of patients at heart. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about reducing health inequalities and ensuring that patients, carers and families are our highest priority.”

“Spectrum is a relatively young organisation, but it has a strong, patient-centred ethos and a real commitment to living its vision and values by supporting the most vulnerable in society. I am looking forward to the future.”

In joining Spectrum, Mr Wragg follows in the footsteps of the founding Chair, Roger Grasby, who retired in March after 12 years at the helm. Spectrum Community Health CIC was founded in 2011, when it ‘spun out’ from what was then the NHS Wakefield Primary Care Trust and became a separate social enterprise.

Dr Linda Harris OBE, the founding Chief Executive of Spectrum, said: “After 12 years of unswerving support and inspiring leadership from our departing Chairman, we now look to the future and are privileged to welcome Steve Wragg to our Board of Directors. Steve has many years of valuable experience in the healthcare sector and a positive track record of driving forward organisations like Spectrum to success, keeping our beneficiaries at the forefront and generating real social value for local communities.”

“As Spectrum continues its focus on delivering quality care for the most vulnerable, we look to Steve’s expertise and experience to help us meet the expectations of our customers and seize the right opportunities to grow and develop in this rapidly changing healthcare landscape.”
