Immigration Removal Centres (IRCs) provide secure but humane accommodation for people who are detained in relation to their immigration status.

Manchester Short Term Holding Facility

Manchester Short Term Holding Facility can hold detainees for up to seven days.

Based at Manchester Airport, this facility is one of only two in the UK.

Spectrum’s healthcare team provides 24-hour care to all detainees, including:

  • Healthcare screening on arrival
  • Advice and support
  • Nurse triage
  • Prevention and control of communicable diseases
  • Responding to any medical emergencies
