All Spectrum services across Community and Health & Justice are now rated Good or Outstanding by the CQC
There’s plenty to celebrate at Spectrum.
Following the latest Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection at HMP Deerbolt, we’re delighted to share that all Spectrum services across Community and Health & Justice are now rated either Good or Outstanding by the CQC.
The latest inspection also means that all remaining CQC regulatory requirements across our services have now been met, with our final regulatory breaches lifted.
It’s a significant milestone for Spectrum and one that reflects the dedication, professionalism and determination of our people across the organisation.
A huge congratulations to HMP Deerbolt
A special congratulations goes to everyone at HMP Deerbolt, who have worked incredibly hard to deliver the improvements identified through previous inspection activity.
The team’s commitment, resilience and determination have been central to the progress recognised through the latest inspection, and we’re incredibly proud of what they have achieved.
Well done Deerbolt!
A milestone across all our services
Having all our CQC-rated services across Community and Health & Justice now rated Good or Outstanding is an important moment for Spectrum.
It reflects the sustained focus of our teams on providing safe, effective and high-quality care, listening to feedback and continually looking for ways to improve.
And while a CQC inspection provides an important point-in-time view of a service, the work behind that assurance happens every day.
It’s in the decisions colleagues make, the care they provide, the risks they identify and manage, the conversations they have with patients, the checks they carry out and the improvements they make — often without anyone seeing them.
This it is part of a wider journey for Spectrum. Our ambition is to build on this success and continue working towards delivering outstanding, person-centred care across all our sites and services.
That is the work we are celebrating.
A year of progress, improvement and teamwork
The Deerbolt inspection is just one part of a much bigger picture.
Over the past 12 months, Spectrum has supported nine CQC inspections across our services, while since the beginning of 2024 we have experienced more than 50 inspection activities across our Health & Justice and Community services.
Every inspection requires preparation, responsiveness and teamwork often with very little notice.
Behind each one is a huge amount of work from colleagues across our sites and corporate teams: gathering evidence, reviewing processes, responding to feedback, strengthening practice and continuing to support the people who rely on our services.
But the commitment to quality doesn’t begin or end with an inspection.
Our teams are working to provide safe and effective care every day, in every service.
Thank you to the teams behind the teams
While our site-based colleagues are at the heart of our services, this achievement has also been supported by colleagues across Spectrum who provide vital expertise, guidance and challenge.
A huge thank you to our:
- People & Culture team
- Learning & Development team
- Marketing, Communications & Engagement team
- Medicines Management team
- Nursing & Clinical Governance team
- Infection Prevention and Control team
- Performance team
And to every colleague who has played a part whether supporting an inspection directly or making improvements every day that strengthen the care we provide.
This is a collective achievement.
Working Together makes a difference
‘Working Together’ is one of Spectrum’s core values, and this milestone is a brilliant example of that value in action.
It means sharing knowledge, supporting one another, listening, learning and continually looking for ways to do things better.
The CQC ratings provide important external assurance of the progress made across our services. But they are also a reminder of the responsibility we have every day to maintain and build on that progress.
There is always more to learn and more to improve but today is a moment to recognise how far our teams have come and to celebrate the people who have made it happen.
Thank you to everyone across Spectrum for your hard work, professionalism and commitment to providing safe, effective and high-quality care every day.
