Tieve Tara Medical Centre is a unique, long established and friendly GP Practice in the heart of Airedale, serving a community of 5,000 patients. Working with 5 other practices, we are part of the Wakefield North Primary Care Network (PCN).

Our unique mission for Tieve Tara is to provide quality, joined up healthcare, which is delivered with compassion, is equally accessible to everyone and supports our patients as a whole person.
We have around 20 staff with a wealth of primary care expertise. All our doctors are qualified general practitioners (GPs), with many having developed extended roles and special interests in areas such as mental health and general wellbeing. One of our GPs is the health inequalities lead for Wakefield North PCN and is working on an initiative looking at the health needs of young mums, relating to breast feeding.
Our professional and approachable nursing staff bring a wealth of expertise into our team, leading on key aspects of health and wellbeing. Our advanced nurse practitioner provides mental ill health expertise. Our lead practice nurse is our diabetes specialist. She has also trained with Spectrum’s sexual health service to fit and remove contraceptive implants and coils for patients here at Tieve Tara. As a practice, we are committed to supporting nurse training and also provide placements for the general practice nurse vocational training scheme.
